The Training Program Manager is responsible for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of all Harvard University Employee Credit Union (HUECU) training programs, including onboarding and technical training, DEI training, and Management Training. The HUECU Training program will serve over 140 Harvard University Employee Credit Union (HUECU) staff at all levels of the organization. This role oversees and manages training delivery, ongoing needs assessment, program planning, course design, curriculum development, and reporting as the program launches and continues to evolve to meet the varied and changing needs of the Credit Union workforce. Also, selecting and managing training vendors brought in to deliver outsourced trainings. This position reports to the HUECU Director of Human Resources and manages the Training Specialist.

Position Description:

  • Manages all aspects of the HUECU training programs, including annual planning, communications, instructor selection and oversight, internal instructor support, vendor management, and program evaluation.

  • Regularly ensures the delivery of courses, including curriculum development for all departments at the Credit Union.

  • Collaborates with the Sr. Team, Managers, Center for Workplace Development (CWD), HR, and other internal colleagues as needed for program development and strategic alignment of programs and services.

  • Evaluates the current learning management system to ensure it is the best product to meet our needs. Oversees and backs-up administration of Learning Management System (LMS).

  • Analyzes workforce trends, training records, statistics, program evaluations, and best practice data to continuously improve program offerings.

  • Oversees the administration of courses. Facilitates remote and in-person trainings.

  • Manages program evaluation; will develop regular reports on programs including service metrics and overall fit. Summarizes key findings and develops recommendations; prepares reports appropriate for varied internal and external audiences including project documents, presentations, reports for Sr Team, and briefings for leadership audiences.

  • Responsible for effective management of one direct report, including hiring and orientation, training and development, workflow and performance management, time and attendance, and the promotion of an inclusive and innovative work environment

  • Other duties as required or requested.




Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) in Human Resources, Business Administration, Education, or relevant field and a minimum of 5 years' experience designing, delivering, managing, implementing, and evaluating larger scale training programs. Bachelor's Degree can be substituted for four additional years' experience.

  • A flexible "can do" attitude and approach to the work.

  • Adobe InDesign, Microsoft Project, Visio, or other related technical skills desired.

  • Capacity to develop and maintain strong professional relationships across the organization and to work collaboratively with colleagues.

  • Demonstrated excellence in organizational, presentation, and facilitation skills.

  • Effective communication and influencing skills, both written and oral, with the ability to clearly and concisely share information and ideas with a range of audiences.

  • Experience with selecting and administering a Learning Management System (LMS) preferred.

  • Experience working in banking or finance field a plus.

  • Graduate certificate in training and development preferred.

  • Instructional design and content creation experience.

  • Proactive in identification and communication of issues or barriers that may impede an initiative or compromise its success and critical thinking skills to identify and determine alternative solutions/approaches.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Zoom (or similar online conferencing software) necessary.

  • Resourceful and able to work independently.

  • Strong experience with project and program management.

  • Strong research and analytical skills, and the ability to effectively synthesize, organize and display data.

  • Supervisory Experience preferred.


Working Conditions:

Interview and onboarding activity for this position may be conducted via telephone & Zoom video conferencing, based on the department's current presence on campus.

Harvard University Employees Credit Union (HUECU) is an on-campus community and all positions are based in Boston and Cambridge.

The majority of jobs at HUECU are hybrid remote/office. During the initial 90-day training period, new employees may be expected to work in the office more frequently, up to full time. When appropriate, remote work must be performed in a state in which Harvard is registered (CT, MA, MD, ME, NH, NY, RI, NH, and VT). Additional details and expectations will be discussed during the interview process.

Schedule:

  • M - F / 7.00hrs per day / 35.00hr per week default schedule but additional hours will be expected depending upon business needs.

  • Late afternoon/early evening/some weekend hours will be expected due to meetings and events.
