Assistant Teaching Professor and Director of Experiential Learning, Master of Science in Global Health Program
Georgetown University: Main Campus: Graduate School of Arts & Sciences

Location: Washington, DC
Open Date: Feb 06, 2024
Deadline:

Description
The Graduate School of Arts & Sciences at Georgetown University invites applications for a full-time position at the level of assistant or associate teaching professor from candidates with a strong interest in global health research and policy. The appointment is untenured and will be for one year, with the possibility of renewal. The Master of Science in Global Health Program (MSGH) is an interdisciplinary program with a focus on global health and international development. The program maintains a network of interning and research relationships with health research institutions and other development-related organizations in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Each MSGH student spends a semester abroad as a culminating experiential learning experience in the program.

The primary responsibility of the Director will be to oversee the experiential learning component of the MSGH. In addition, the successful candidate will teach two courses per year, as assigned by the Director of the MSGH. The successful candidate should possess a doctoral degree in public health, medicine or a related social science, experience in graduate education, and a familiarity with research organizations in low and middle-income countries.

The School promotes a highly collaborative working environment and values excellence in teaching and multidisciplinary scholarship. This position does not entail the expectation of research, but the University's proximity to leading International Development Organizations, the National Institutes of Health, and numerous international Non-Governmental Development organizations offers unique networking opportunities.

Interested candidates are invited to send curriculum vitae and a cover letter detailing their experience. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
