Adjunct Instructor - Creating Productive Classroom Communities
The MA Program in Educational Transformation at Georgetown University is looking for an adjunct instructor to teach a 3-credit graduate level course,
Creating Productive Classroom Communities, in our Fall semester. Serving teacher candidates working full-time in schools, in this course candidates examine their worldviews, discipline/punishment principles and practices of the current schooling system, and the role of culturally relevant and problem-posing pedagogies to establish classroom communities that facilitate and accelerate student learning through current research and effective practices on motivation, engagement, and behavior management.

The MA Program in Educational Transformation (
https://edtransform.georgetown.edu/) is a 1-year, graduate level program designed to prepare professionals to advance equity in K-12 education across multiple domains: race, class, linguistic diversity, and among students with disabilities. We take a critical stance towards educational policies and practices and seek to develop among our students the skills to transform educational settings and contexts to promote equity. We take an explicitly anti-racist position in our program and an asset-based approach in our pedagogy; we expect all faculty to uphold and model those commitments in their teaching.

The course runs from August 28, 2024-December 21, 2024, meeting on Wednesdays, 5:00pm-7:30pm. The expected pay for this course is $10,000. If you are interested in applying please email your CV, any college-level teaching evaluations, and the names of three references to Prof. Sabrina Wesley-Nero, the assistant program director, at edtransform@georgetown.edu.
