Description:

QC Learning Commons, the Academic Support unit for the college, aims to support and develop stronger and more confident students grounded on best practices and research, in the context of a minority serving institution whose mission is to prepare our highly diverse students to become leading citizens in an increasingly global society. As such, QC Learning Commons is seeking candidates for the position of Learning Commons Coordinator.



Reporting to the Director of the Learning Commons, the Learning Commons Coordinator will be responsible for supporting and tracking activities to help students engage, learn and thrive, collaboratively working to promote retention, learning, and personal development for students.



In addition to the duties outlined in the CUNY Title Overview, tasks include, but are not limited to: Assist with the administrative running of the tutoring services offered in the center, which includes scheduling sessions, tracking sessions, troubleshooting issues as they arise; To recruit, train and supervise peer tutors and peer administrative assistants.; and to work alongside the director with assisting in the creation, promotion and facilitation of workshops, special events, and other projects that support academic momentum, persistence and retention.
